The only downside to water slides? The "reward" is that it's too short-lived compared to the "effort" you put in. You have to climb many steps to reach the slide, only to enjoy that exhilarating feeling for a few seconds...
That drawback is no longer an issue, with the world's longest water slide recently opened at Malaysia's Escape Theme Park, where you can enjoy a more than 4-minute "reward" ride through the jungle.
The slide, viewed from above. Each ride lasts over 4 minutes, winding through the dense jungle.
Described as a snake slithering through the forest, this water slide has surpassed the Guinness World Record of over 600 meters held by a park in Vernon, New Jersey.
Like the New Jersey version, the Escape slide is made of fiber-reinforced polymer and is a fixed structure attached to steel columns. The slide reaches a maximum height of 70 meters above the ground, comprising 488 tube sections and 326 safety rails. A total of 10,248 screws and bolts were used to assemble the slide.

In addition, the construction team had to use a record amount of steel pipes, totaling 1.2 km in length and weighing 66 tons, to fix and shape the water slide.
The waterslide was constructed entirely by hand, without cutting down any trees, in order to protect the environment.
With this new water slide, visitors will have up to four minutes to slide from top to bottom. You'll take a cable car up to the hilltop, then experience a thrilling descent through the air, through the trees and forest, before landing in a large pool at the bottom of the slide.

Sim Choo Kheng, CEO of Escape, said that when building this water slide, he "had no intention" of breaking the world record. Because current slides are too short, Sim wanted to create slides that could last for several minutes.
Penang Island is more famous for its culture and cuisine than for thrill-seeking. George Town, the island's main town, is a top attraction thanks to its colorful blend of cultures, including Hindu and Buddhist temples, street art, mosques, British colonial architecture, and ornate Chinese mansions.
Penang is also considered one of the world's top culinary destinations, thanks to its diverse range of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cuisine.
