This coming March, Paramount will release its first animated film of 2019, titled "Wonder Park." This is expected to be a major hit, further solidifying Paramount's position in the fiercely competitive and ever-evolving film industry. Interestingly, Thai Hoa will be involved in the Vietnamese adaptation of this film.

After nearly five years in development, Wonder Park, crafted by the renowned Spanish 3D animation studio Ilion Animations Studio, promises to deliver the most realistic and immersive 3D cinematic experience for audiences. The film features voice acting by big names in Hollywood, including Golden Globe winner Jennifer Garner (as June's mother), young star Brianna Denski (as June), "Black Swan" actress Mila Kunis (as Greta the pig), and actor Ken Hudson Campbell (as Boomer the blue bear).

And for the Vietnamese dubbed version, one of the stars chosen by the producers for this extremely important role is actor and screenwriter Thai Hoa, who is known as the "King of the Vietnamese Box Office".

This time, Thai Hoa will transform into Steve the hedgehog, a crucial character who accompanies June on her adventure in the magical land. Sharing his reasons for accepting the role, he said: “I am very excited about animated film projects, especially those that convey profound messages to children. Therefore, when I received an invitation to join the voice-over team for Wonder Park from Paramount, I immediately agreed because not only does the film convey valuable lessons about family and friendship to young audiences, but following June on her journey also transported me back to my own dreamy childhood days in a land full of magic.”

Steve the hedgehog in the film is described as a Captain in the Park Safety Team, a talkative but very intelligent and quick-witted character. He's a little arrogant but very affectionate, especially towards his "loved one" – Greta the pig. When asked about the character he plays, Thai Hoa revealed: "Thai Hoa really loves Captain Steve. He's clearly a bit talkative and sharp-witted, but in reality, he cares deeply about the safety of his dear friends. In particular, Steve's role in June's adventure is significant. Thanks to his quick wit and courage, the hedgehog excels at everything he can, bringing about positive results for everyone."

Although he had previously voiced many blockbuster animated films such as The Angry Birds, Kung Fu Panda 3, and Frozen, for his role as Steve the hedgehog, Thai Hoa still prepared meticulously for the dialogue delivery and conveying emotion in each line. To create a unique personality for the character, the most beloved actor on Vietnamese screens carefully recorded every gesture, demeanor, facial expression, and even mouth movement of the hedgehog on screen. Thai Hoa also practiced a little with his children at home to get feedback from these discerning viewers.

When asked about the difficulties during the dubbing process, Thai Hoa revealed: “With such a short timeframe and a large amount of dialogue, I needed to try to understand the hedgehog's thought process and put myself in his shoes. Sometimes, Steve might be happy and excited in one scene, and then immediately switch to sadness or anger in the next. There were also times when the dialogue, once translated into Vietnamese, was too long for the screen time, so I and the technical staff in the studio had to discuss and 'rewrite' it to fit the film's situation.”
