Pornhub is being sued by the Louvre Museum.

The adult film platform Pornhub recently launched an online museum tour, allowing customers not only to admire but also to interact with famous works of art.

The museums recreated by Pornhub include the Louvre (France), MET (USA), Prado (Spain), Uffizi (Italy), and National Gallery (UK).

“There are countless works of art depicting eroticism around the world, from paintings to sculptures. These works of art sit dormant in museums, waiting for visitors as Covid-19 restrictions are gradually lifted. When visitors return to the museum, if they are bored with the pre-recorded, monotonous commentary, they can experience our online program,” Asa Akira, a representative from Pornhub, shared about the Classic Nudes program.

Pornhub wants to use this program to encourage people to visit museums more often.

However, Pornhub's idea did not receive a positive response from museums. The Louvre even filed a lawsuit against the adult film site, demanding the immediate removal of such content.

The Uffizi Museum also criticized Pornhub, stating: “The website used artwork without permission. According to cultural preservation regulations in Italy, the use of museum images or works of art for commercial purposes requires a clear licensing process. The management will consider the method of use and the fee requested before making a decision to approve or reject the request.”
