According to a report by the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, the volume of international passengers and cargo passing through airports in the first quarter is projected as follows: international passengers reached 321,000, an increase of 176.2% compared to the same period in 2021; international cargo reached 292,000 tons, an increase of 21.1% compared to the same period in 2021.
Following Vietnam's reopening to international flights on March 15th, Singapore Airlines operated the most flights with 45 round-trip flights per week, reaching 36% of the same period in 2019. The number of passengers transported between Vietnam and Japan was the highest among all countries currently served, with 10,300 passengers (18.1% of total passengers transported).

According to the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, as of March 25th, 23 airlines were operating 67 routes between Vietnam and 20 countries and territories. Currently, there are still 8 destinations that have not yet reopened regular flights with Vietnam, including: Brunei, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Macao (China), Finland, Italy, and Switzerland.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority also forecasts that domestic passenger traffic in the first quarter will reach 13 million, a decrease of 13.3% compared to the same period in 2021.
