Diep Huu Dat, a young photographer working in Ta Xua, had the opportunity to experience this beautiful space during a spring trip on the 4th day of Tet. Dat shared: "This trip is both work and a true spring trip. Coming to Moc Chau this season, just turn into the small roads leading deep into the village, you will feel like you are lost in another world - where there is only blue sky, white clouds and blooming plum gardens".
For a photography lover like Dat, each frame in Moc Chau brings special emotions. He recounts the most impressive moment of the journey: "I rode my motorbike deep into the village, when I had just climbed the slope, a small wooden house appeared in front of my eyes in the middle of a valley filled with plum blossoms. Under the afternoon sunlight, the white color of the flowers became brilliant, so beautiful that I had to stop for a long time to admire it."
Lost in the plum blossom forest, we seem to touch the gentle and pure spring of Moc Chau.
Familiar destinations such as Na Ka valley, Mu Nau or Phieng Canh are always the top choices of tourists. But for Dat, Phieng Canh brings a most special feeling. "There are ancient plum trees that have not been pruned, so the tree canopy spreads out, creating beautiful flower arches. Especially, when standing from below looking up, the white flower clusters stand out against the blue sky, so beautiful it breaks the heart," he shared.
The most beautiful plum blossom season is around the end of January and the beginning of February of the lunar calendar. But to fully enjoy this beauty, the ideal time of day is late afternoon. When the soft yellow sunlight spreads across the hillsides, the plum blossoms suddenly become shimmering, as if plated with silver. "The afternoon sunlight really makes the plum hill scene the most charming. At that time, the light is just enough, not too harsh, helping to highlight the purity of the plum blossoms," Dat shared.
Amidst the valley of immense plum blossoms, a small wooden house quietly adds color to the spring picture.
Laughter echoed throughout the village as the tops spun on the ground.
However, along with the growing attraction of Moc Chau, the number of tourists flocking here is also increasing. Dat said: "This year, some destinations are still not too crowded because they have not been widely promoted by the media, but famous areas are very crowded. Many plum gardens are spontaneous business models, so convenient services such as toilets, changing rooms, and parking are still inadequate."
So how to have the most complete experience when traveling in Moc Chau in the spring? According to Dat, instead of going to places that are too crowded, tourists should choose less known roads, find more remote villages, where plum blossoms still retain their wild beauty. "If possible, ride a motorbike to freely explore. The villages deep in the valley are not only more peaceful but also help you feel more clearly the atmosphere of Tet in the highlands with the unique cultural features of the local people," he suggested.
