The Con Dao archipelago (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) currently has the largest number of natural nesting turtles in Vietnam. Here, the sea turtle conservation effort is ongoing, driven by the tireless efforts of Con Dao National Park. Despite significant achievements, sea turtle conservation in Con Dao still faces many challenges.

Recognizing the importance of sea turtle conservation and wishing to spread the spirit of responsible tourism in the community, the annual Run for Sea Turtles was established in 2022, a meaningful initiative from AKYN Hotel Group, with the Group's first hotel - The Secret Con Dao Hotel.
After two successful years, the 3rd "Run for Sea Turtles" race in 2024 has been redesigned with many new and attractive features, along with the message "Every Step, A Thousand Miles of Green," encouraging participation in sea turtle conservation in Con Dao. Not only has the race been rescheduled to a romantic sunset time, but the organizers have also offered participants more distance options (3 km, 5 km, 10 km) to suit all abilities.

The running distance is suitable for all skill levels and offers captivating, breathtaking scenery.
First, the shorter 3km distance promises to make the race more accessible to young runners, beginners, and tourists who want to experience and participate in a responsible travel experience. Meanwhile, the traditional 5km distance is maintained to meet the needs of a large number of participants. Finally, the 10km distance will be a moderate and enjoyable challenge for passionate runners.

With these innovative changes, the Organizing Committee hopes that the third season of the Run for Sea Turtles will continue to receive enthusiastic support from the community.
