The invisible sculpture is calledI am(I Am) is simply a blank space measuring 150x150 cm. According to the modern art auction house Art-Rite in Milan, Italy, the work entered the auction with a starting bid of 6,000 Euros (approximately 167.6 million VND). Ultimately, the work was acquired by an anonymous collector for 15,000 Euros.
Because it is an intangible artwork, the buyer only receives a certificate signed and stamped by the artist certifying the work, as well as confirmation from the auction house Art-Rite.

DailyΔTA Spanish newspaper on June 3 quoted Salvatore Garau explaining the invisible sculpture: “I define invisible sculptures as non-material sculptures. What I experienced helped me understand what seems to not exist. The work activates the power of imagination, a power that anyone possesses, even those who don’t believe they have it. The successful outcome of the auction proves the undeniable truth: empty space is nothing more than a space full of energy, even when we empty it and nothing remains.”
Italian artist Salvatore Garau.
Starting from the uncertainty principle of German physicist Werner Heisenberg, Salvatore Garau argues that voids possess condensed and self-transforming energy. Salvatore Garau considers his invisible sculptures a perfect metaphor for the modern age, surpassing artworks in the form of NFTs (using blockchain technology). This is because invisible sculptures are not only unique and unreproducible, but also have no impact on the environment.
Many people are curious about how to store and display this unique sculpture. Salvatore Garau suggests placing the artwork in a space of approximately 2.5 meters.2There are no obstructions, and a lighting system needs to be installed to create an immediate impression on the viewer.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Salvatore Garau has created an invisible sculpture. Previously, the artist exhibited a work titled “Buddha in Contemplation” in Piazza Della Scala (Milan, Italy).

The artwork was posted on an art Instagram page with the description: “You can’t see it, but it’s there, it’s made of air and spirit… It’s a work that requires you to use your imagination.”
