Tourist boats on the Nho Que River have resumed operations after a 5-day suspension.

According to the latest announcement from the Tu San Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative, boats are allowed to resume operations following instructions from the People's Committee of Ha Giang province.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Son, executive director of Tu San Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative, said that this reconnection is based on the agreement reached between the Meo Vac District People's Committee, Nho Que 1 Hydropower Joint Stock Company, and Tu San Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative on September 20th. The parties agreed on a (temporary) management plan for transporting tourists to visit Tu San Gorge within the Nho Que 1 hydropower reservoir.

Previously, on September 19th, the People's Committee of Meo Vac district issued an urgent document requesting relevant units to quickly agree on a plan for operating tourist boats on the Nho Que 1 river. Accordingly, it requested both sides to agree on restoring tourist transportation on the Nho Que 1 hydroelectric reservoir, starting from 7:00 AM on September 21st.

On September 15th, the District People's Committee also issued a document approving the extension of the passenger transport contract between Tu San Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative and Nho Que 1 Hydropower Joint Stock Company from September 16th to December 31st, 2023. However, due to a failure to reach a common understanding, Tu San Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative unexpectedly announced the cessation of passenger transport on the Nho Que 1 River, via the Nho Que 1 Hydropower Plant, starting from September 16th.

The announcement came as a surprise and disappointment to many tourists visiting Ha Giang. Tour operations by travel companies were also disrupted, affecting tourism development in Meo Vac - Ha Giang.
