According to the travel websitetravelpulse.comFrom May 1, visitors only need to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination and insurance confirmation when registering online on the Thailand Pass immigration registration system.
The entry approval process can take time, so visitors are encouraged to register as early as 3-7 days before their planned trip. However, according to the Bangkok Post, the requirement to register for the Thailand Pass will soon be removed from June 1. In addition, the health insurance coverage will also be halved from $20,000 to $10,000.
For those who have not been vaccinated and want to enter Thailand, if they are children under 18 years old traveling with vaccinated parents, they do not need to be quarantined. Those over 18 years old can choose to quarantine for 5 days, or provide a negative PCR test result within 72 hours before departure when registering for the Thailand Pass.

Tourism used to contribute 12% to Thailand's GDP before the pandemic. At the end of April, the Thai government said it had received 713,183 international arrivals since the beginning of the year, of which more than 50% were tourists.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand hopes that with the relaxed entry policy, it can attract at least 1 million tourists per month by the end of 2022 when the next peak tourist period begins in the country. This figure is only equivalent to about 30% of Thailand's average monthly arrivals before the Covid-19 pandemic.
