This is a large-scale cultural festival aimed at promoting and showcasing the unique cultural identity, history, and scenic spots of Vo Nhai district to a wide range of tourists from all over the country, contributing to boosting the tourism potential of the district as well as Thai Nguyen province.

The festival opens with a spectacular artistic program recreating the history of the heroic Vo Nhai region in its fight against foreign invaders, demonstrating unwavering resilience in the face of enemy aggression to protect the homeland and the country. It also showcases a new Vo Nhai region undergoing transformation, working alongside the people of the province to build a more prosperous and beautiful Thai Nguyen. At the "Vo Nhai - The Roots" festival, visitors can participate in many exciting and attractive activities such as: competitions in traditional sports (cockfighting, stilt running, tug-of-war, crossbow shooting); a Hmong ethnic group's khene flute dance competition; a tea-making demonstration by traditional tea masters; and cultural exchanges. Along with recreating the Hmong ethnic group's love market, Vo Nhai district also organizes a highland market with a full range of products and characteristic dishes of the ethnic groups on display and prepared at the market. This is also a special highlight, attracting people of ethnic minorities from neighboring areas to the festival, creating a unique tourism product in Vo Nhai.
Vo Nhai is the only mountainous district of Thai Nguyen province, home to many historical and cultural relics and scenic spots such as: the Mai Da Nguom archaeological site (Than Sa) - a dwelling place of prehistoric people and where characteristic stone artifacts of the Bac Son, Hoa Binh, and Son Vi cultures dating back tens of thousands of years were discovered; the Khuon Manh forest historical site - where the Second National Salvation Army Platoon (Trang Xa) was established - one of the predecessor units of the current Vietnam People's Army and where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked; the archaeological site in Than Sa - one of the cradles of ancient Vietnamese people; and the scenic spots of Phuong Hoang cave and Mo Ga stream (Phu Thuong). Most notably, the Mong people's love market takes place on the 26th day of the 3rd lunar month every year... Organizing the "Vo Nhai - The Roots" Festival not only promotes the local tourism potential but also contributes to the effective implementation of the project "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups in Vo Nhai district, 2010-2015".
