The resounding success of the IBF & WBO Professional Boxing Tournament series, followed by the 21st Angel's Fighting Championship (AFC21) and the Grand Ho Tram 2022 National Blitz Chess Championship last year, are prime examples of this, creating a springboard to increase the popularity of The Grand Ho Tram Strip in the field of hosting large-scale sporting events.

Hosting a series of prestigious events to kick off 2023

Kicking off the Year of the Rabbit as a partner of the first Miss Charm International beauty pageant organized by Vietnamese people, The Grand Ho Tram Strip continues to make its mark by hosting the prestigious Lexus Challenge 2023 golf tournament. The event, held from February 21st to 24th, attracted a large number of 126 professional and amateur athletes.

Besides featuring renowned athletes, the Lexus Challenge 2023 also marks the opening tournament for Vietnamese golf in 2023, boasting a record-breaking prize pool of 2 billion VND. All rounds will take place on The Bluffs, a 74-hectare course ranked among the "Top 100 most beautiful golf courses in the world" by the prestigious Golf Digest magazine. The Lexus Challenge organizers also consider this world-class course to be a challenging venue, contributing to many exciting and unexpected matches.

A familiar destination for prestigious sporting events.

Following the success of the Lexus Challenge 2023 and a series of memorable sporting events last year, The Grand Ho Tram Strip quickly became a "guarantee" for even larger-scale sporting events this year.

Most recently, the 2023 National Chess Championship will take place from March 3-11, featuring 200 athletes from 20 provinces and cities, and attracting many grandmasters and masters from across Vietnam. The tournament is organized by the Vietnam Chess Federation in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province and The Grand Ho Tram Strip. The competition will focus on men's and women's championships in all three categories: standard chess, rapid chess, and blitz chess.

This initiative is part of The Grand Ho Tram Strip's efforts to make the complex a leading destination for entertainment and sports activities, while also contributing to promoting Ba Ria - Vung Tau as a destination and boosting the development of resort tourism there. In particular, sports and marine tourism are also being prioritized by the provincial government as a foundational model for the development of local services, attracting tourists from Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces to Vung Tau.

Another notable sporting event taking place concurrently at The Grand Ho Tram Strip is the 23rd Angel's Fighting Championship (AFC23) on March 10th. The event will bring together 16 renowned fighters from countries with strong MMA traditions in Asia and internationally, promising eight thrilling and highly exciting matches within the grounds of the 5-star resort. Notably, The Grand Ho Tram Strip is also encouraging sportsmanship by offering free AFC23 tickets when booking directly with the resort.

Representatives from The Grand Ho Tram Strip further shared that, in addition to Chess and AFC23, many other sporting events will be held at the resort during the remaining three quarters of 2023. This not only contributes to nurturing sporting talent and supporting tournaments but also creates many unique accommodation experiences only available at The Grand Ho Tram.
