On the morning of August 11, Mr. Dinh Thanh Tien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cat Khanh Commune, Phu Cat District, said that in recent days, giant blue whales have continuously appeared in the Vung Boi area of De Gi beach to hunt for prey, much to the interest and curiosity of many locals and tourists.
According to Mr. Tien, after appearing about half a month ago, two blue whales appeared again in the De Gi sea area and have stayed in this area for many days.

A flock of seagulls surround the blue whale every time it opens its mouth to take a bite.
According to Tommy Toan (a tour guide in De Gi, who has witnessed blue whales appearing many times), before August, there were many blue whales appearing in the De Gi sea area, but now there are only 2 of very large size.
The giant blue whale sea appears 20 minutes by boat from De Gi port, this place is very wild and clean.
For the first time, blue whales appeared and stayed for many days in the De Gi sea area.

The rare, majestic scene makes tourists extremely excited.
"They come here to hunt because there are a lot of small fish here, mostly herring, sardines, anchovies... and above, seabirds join in hunting. Currently, there are two. The big one is about 17 meters long, the small one is about 10 meters long," Toan shared.
According to Mr. Toan, the sea area where the blue whale appeared is still pristine and clean, about 20 minutes by boat from De Gi estuary.
