The public bicycle sharing system in Hue will be a new urban transport solution to help people and tourists switch to environmentally friendly transport. The system is deployed conveniently for picking up and returning bicycles at many different locations in the city, suitable for short travel distances, contributing to improving people's health and promoting the value of Hue's cultural heritage.
Residents and tourists use QR smart locks with GPS positioning that allow them to lock/unlock their vehicles with QR Code, scan with smartphones and electronic payment methods.

Bicycle management units apply a system using IT technology to manage operations, and at the same time deploy a shared application (App) in managing bicycle activities; connect with the province's Smart Urban Monitoring and Operation Center to unify management and supervision points, and improve service quality.
More than 120 public shared bicycles are being piloted at 7 stations along the two banks of the Perfume River in the city center. These are Nam Xuong and Nam Thang straits; Nguyen Van Troi Park (Doan Thi Diem Street); Toa Kham Boat Wharf; Nghinh Luong Dinh Park; Ho Chi Minh Museum parking lot and 11 Le Loi Street.
The pilot project of public bicycle sharing system in the central area of Hue City will be implemented from June 2022 to December 2023. In the immediate future, Hue City will pilot this bicycle route with 7 stations located on both sides of the Perfume River and in the Imperial City area, each station with 10-20 bicycles equipped with QR smart locks.

The project, when put into operation, will create a new point, suitable for the city's terrain conditions. Because the roads in Hue city are basically small, the population density is high. The relics, tourist sites, and heritage areas are located in residential communities. Therefore, the development of bicycles for tourism will create convenience for tourists.
The bicycle system pilot is an activity in phase 1 of the "Public Bicycle Sharing" project implemented in Hue city. The model is expected to end at the end of 2022. Phase 2 will be based on the results of phase 1 and piloted on a large scale. Phase 3, the project continues to pilot the overall system operation, integrate application features; manage, operate and maintain the system to run stably and end at the end of 2023.
