At the opening ceremony of Hue Digital Transformation Week on April 27, 2021, the People's Committee of Hue City, Vietsoftpro Joint Stock Company, and the German Development Cooperation Organization (GIZ) signed a memorandum of understanding for a pilot project to build a public shared bicycle system in Hue.
After more than a year, within the framework of the Project, Hue City decided to officially launch the first stations of the public shared bicycle system on April 29, 2022, at 7 locations, including: Eo Bau Nam Xuong, Eo Bau Nam Thang, Nguyen Van Troi Park, Toa Kham Boat Wharf, Nghenh Luong Dinh Park, the parking lot next to the Ho Chi Minh Museum, and 11 Le Loi Street (pedestrian street, next to Festival restaurant).

Public bike sharing is a service that allows users to rent and share bicycles, enabling them to travel from any bike station within the system to various locations in the city, and then return the bike to any other station (including the original station).
This new mode of transportation will contribute to effectively connecting with traditional public transport, aiming to create a more complete public transport network, supporting people to travel short distances in the city center; thereby encouraging and facilitating the use of bicycles as an enjoyable, convenient, dynamic, healthy, environmentally friendly transportation option and reducing traffic congestion in urban areas.

In Hue, the pilot project to build a public shared bicycle system aims to expand and spread cycling in the ancient capital city as a modern, civilized movement for the environment, contributing to improving people's health, and promoting the cultural heritage of Hue.
