Spring trip "in the past" with the spring festival "Quintessence of the North"
With the intention of promoting the quintessence of Northern culture, through the language of art, “The Quintessence of the North” is a live performance combining traditional folk elements but still meeting the entertainment factors, performed in a modern and creative style such as: a cast of indigenous actors, a large-scale support prop system, the most advanced sound and lighting system today, bringing visitors a special and memorable experience of Vietnamese culture.
Many folk art forms are recreated in "Quintessence of the North".
The Spring Festival will recreate folk games such as swinging, breaking pots, walking on the bridge, catching eels in jars; or the space of the old Tet Market, during the Tet Ky Hoi 2019, from the 6th to the 20th of the first lunar month (February 10 - 24, 2019). "Quintessence of the North" takes place on a green lawn of more than 12,000 m2.2among the colorful flower gardens in the campus of La Paz Hanoi Hotel, part of the Baara Land entertainment and cultural complex.
The space of the Spring Festival is imbued with the ancient Tet of the North.
In addition, the “Quintessence of the North” Spring Festival also provides space for children to ask for calligraphy, make figurines, participate in traditional cake making classes and play folk games rarely seen today such as kite flying, playing volleyball, etc.
In addition, when coming to the Association, families can also combine spring travel and temple visits at nearby attractions such as Duong Lam ancient village, Thay pagoda, and Tay Phuong pagoda.
Lunar New Year, enjoy the Human Chess Festival
Human Chess is one of the unique folk games that takes place during festivals in the Northern Delta region, especially during the Lunar New Year. With the desire to recreate a folk game that is both rich in sportsmanship and intellectual qualities imbued with the Vietnamese national identity that is gradually fading away, “The Quintessence of the North” has created a Human Chess playground for the Lunar New Year 2019.
The Human Chess Competition is recruiting players in December, expected to compete through intense rounds in January and will name the Human Chess Grandmaster on the main festival day of the Spring Festival "Quintessence of the North" on the 6th day of the Lunar New Year (February 10, 2019). During the Human Chess Competition, visitors can also participate in the program "Wrapping cakes with artisans", personally wrapping and boiling traditional cakes such as banh chung, banh gai, banh gio and bringing the finished products full of Tet flavor, full of love to their small family.
