The architects at Farming Architects relied on the Aquaponics method, a combination of Aquaculture and Hydroponics, to create a flexible piping system connecting the Koi pond and the rooftop garden at the VAC Library. The main mechanism involves collecting fish waste at the bottom and channeling it up to the rooftop garden system via convection. Each plant pot contains a simple filtration system that retains organic waste and returns clean water to the fish pond.
The VAC Library is designed with sturdy wooden frames.
