For nearly a month now, a series of Mon Hue, Pho Ong Hung... branches in Ho Chi Minh City owned by Huy Viet Nam Company have been closing down and returning their premises. This chain of restaurants is mainly concentrated on many streets in District 1, including premises in expensive locations such as Ngo Duc Ke, Huynh Thuc Khang, Le Thanh Ton, De Tham, Dong Khoi...

Some branches in central districts posted notices of closure for repairs and suspension of sales and return of premises.
In Hanoi, many Mon Hue and Pho Ong Hung restaurants have left but still leave tables, chairs, bowls, chopsticks and cooking equipment. Meanwhile, some have closed and posted signs announcing the return of the premises.


On the morning of October 22, a series of suppliers brought banners to Huy Viet Nam's headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City, accusing them of being late in paying for many months. Some suppliers said that Mon Hue owed payment for orders from April. By noon on October 22, the total amount of debt reported by 28 suppliers was nearly 20 billion VND.
Mon Hue restaurant chain was accused of owing employees more than 2 months' salary and overdue payments to many suppliers.
It is known that the owner of the 9-storey office building at 302-304 Vo Van Kiet (Co Giang ward, district 1, Ho Chi Minh City) has demanded the premises back from Huy Viet Nam company due to non-payment of rent for many months.
On the morning of October 22, only 2-3 employees were present to request the company to pay their salaries. According to these employees, the company only paid 30% of their salaries last September.
Inside many restaurants, tables, chairs, microwaves, dishes and cooking utensils remained intact.
Currently, the suppliers have filed a complaint against Huy Viet Nam Company to the Co Giang Ward Police (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City). The ward police representative said that they have received the complaint and will forward it to the District 1 Police to handle it in accordance with the procedures.
Huy Vietnam owns the restaurant chains Mon Hue, Pho Ong Hung, Com Tho Chay, Iki Sushi, House of Pho and Great Banh Mi. Mon Hue alone has nearly 80 branches in 5 provinces and cities across the country.
