Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort.
According to him, what are the key factors that help Premier Village Phu Quoc maintain its position in the high-end resort tourism industry in Vietnam?
Patrice Landrein:I believe the concept of luxury should be in the DNA of a resort. At Premier Village Phu Quoc, everything from the landscape to the location is superb. We have villas with private pools, and beaches where you can watch both sunsets and sunrises. This is a place with great potential for growth. And we have well-trained staff. After Covid, when I took over the resort, my vision was to transform it into one of the best resorts in Vietnam, and I still maintain that vision today.
In addition to the above, employees play a crucial role. I value attitude more than a person's ability. We create a comfortable environment for employees to thrive; no one is allowed to yell or scold, and employees must be happy at work.
Above all, explaining the "why" to employees and providing ongoing training is crucial. It's easy to teach others how to do something, but we have to go further, by changing their mindset. Having a background from big brands is important, like the Ritz in Paris, where I used to work. When you work there, you have pride and a reason to be there. But that's not enough. You need a philosophy and vision to achieve even more.
Mr. Patrice Landrein - General Manager of Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort
Could you share your vision and strategy for sustainable tourism development at Premier Village Phu Quoc in the coming years?
Patrice Landrein: I remember one time I came home late at 1 AM and was surprised to see all the villas lit up. Customers choose accommodations based on sustainability, but are they truly sustainable? Therefore, educating staff and customers about energy conservation is crucial.
Here you can admire the beauty of both sunset and sunrise from the same spot.
We have a farm area, including a vegetable garden and an Eco Studio. In addition, the resort regularly organizes monthly recycling competitions, where departments come up with creative ideas using discarded items. The next step will be to minimize electricity, water, and waste consumption. I believe that in the next 20 years, countries will adopt electricity, water, and waste credit systems to balance usage.
At Premier Village Phu Quoc, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy exquisite and unique cuisine.
Compared to two years ago, Premier Village Phu Quoc is undergoing changes to welcome inbound tourists. What differences will Premier Village Phu Quoc create to offer tourists new travel trends?
Patrice Landrein: That's the energy and inspiration at the resort. Among luxury resorts in Asia, we inspire guests throughout their stay. Word-of-mouth and social media advertising are starting to pay off.
Guests feel a positive energy while being served, as we reduce the pressure on our staff. Meetings with staff become less stressful and more pleasant, and the way we welcome new employees is also more cheerful. Besides the prime location, the nearby Sun Group ecosystem also plays a significant role, with the Hon Thom Cable Car, the Kiss of the Sea show, and the Kissing Bridge. If asked what makes us successful compared to our competitors, I would answer: the location, the scenery, and the inspiring way guests are welcomed and feel happy during their stay.
