4. Patagonia, Argentina - Chile
Patagonia, located in the southernmost part of South America, spans Argentina and Chile and is renowned for its high-altitude grasslands and expansive glacial lakes. December is one of the best times to visit, as it's summer with warm weather and bright sunshine, perfect for sightseeing.
There are many trails here for hikers. In addition, visitors can stroll through Los Glaciares National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site recognized in 1981.

A visit to Patagonia would be incomplete without a trip to the Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park. This is the world's third-largest freshwater reservoir and one of Patagonia's most popular tourist destinations.

After a long day of walking, wander into downtown El Calafate and find Mi Rancho restaurant. It's just a small house with a few tables, but the dishes here are well worth trying, such as the osso buco stew or the Patagonian lamb.
5. Kolkata, India
Kolkata isn't a hugely popular tourist destination in India, especially when compared to Delhi, Rajasthan, and the Taj Mahal. But the city still has plenty to see and do.
Located on a branch of the Ganges River, Kolkata boasts picturesque scenery. For centuries, inhabitants along the riverbanks have utilized the power of the water for worship, transportation, bathing, laundry, and cremation. Across the river lies the Dakshineswar Kali Temple, built in the 19th century.

After a stroll along the riverbank, you can wander the streets and enjoy famous street food like pao bhaji (vegetable sandwiches) and pani puris (fried pastries) along Maidan – the city's central park.

Afterward, head to the city's main avenue, Chowringhee, to shop at the New Market and enjoy pastries at Nahoum, a Jewish bakery particularly famous for its fruit tarts during the Christmas season.
At night, Park Street, brimming with restaurants and clubs, is an ideal destination for tourists. Especially during holidays, Park Street is always crowded and bustling with musical performances, winter markets, and festivals.
