From 4th place last year, Ho Chi Minh City rose to 3rd place thanks to its relatively low cost of living. Most of the respondents said that it is easy to find rental housing in Ho Chi Minh City and especially the friendliness of the people here. However, some people complained about the quality of the environment with dirty streets and poor waste management. Traffic is also an aspect that brings dissatisfaction to foreigners living here.
Ho Chi Minh City has a diverse housing market and affordable cost of living.
Topping the list is Taipei (Taiwan, China). This place is famous for its low cost of living and rich cuisine. As the second city in the list of best places to live, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) is highly rated for its cuisine, unique local culture and the ease with which foreigners can communicate in English. The cost of living is also considered reasonable and foreigners can easily travel throughout Asia from Malaysia. Singapore dropped to 4th place this year because of the high cost of housing.
