The UK-based market research firm Euromonitor International has just published its list of the 100 most visited cities in the world for 2019. Euromonitor's report includes data on tourists from over 400 cities, and only counts international visitors who have visited another country for at least 24 hours. This means that domestic tourists, day-trippers, and cruise passengers are not included in the list.
Cities in Asia continue to lead the rankings. This is mainly due to the increasing number of Chinese people traveling abroad, especially to countries in Asia. Following them are Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa.
Despite experiencing political instability in 2019 with numerous prolonged protests and riots, Hong Kong remained the world's most popular tourist destination that year.

Notably, Vietnam has four cities on this list: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Ha Long, and Da Nang. Ho Chi Minh City moved up one rank from last year to 31st out of 100, with approximately 8.2 million international visitors in 2019. In addition, Ho Chi Minh City was also named among the most attractive tourist destinations of 2019 by Kayak.

The next city in our country to be named in the ranking is Ha Long (Quang Ninh) - ranking 48th out of 100, up 6 places compared to last year. In 2018, Ha Long received 5.2 million visitors, and this year the number of international tourists increased by 18% to 6.2 million.
Ha Long City is becoming increasingly popular with international tourists.
Visiting Ha Long Bay, tourists can enjoy unique experiences such as helicopter or cruise tours to explore the bay, kayaking, and visiting caves like Sung Sot, Thien Cung, Dau Go, Trinh Nu, and Trong Cave... Next is Hanoi, ranked 52nd out of 100. In 2019, Hanoi welcomed over 5 million international visitors who came to explore the Old Quarter, watch water puppet shows, drink coffee, and enjoy local specialties like pho, bun cha, and banh mi.
Hanoi, the capital city, remains a favorite destination for many international tourists.
Ranked 90th in the Top 100, Da Nang welcomed 2.8 million international tourists in 2019, a 15% increase compared to 2018. Some of Da Nang's famous landmarks that attract many tourists include: the Golden Bridge, Son Tra Peninsula, Marble Mountains, Nam O Reef, Hai Van Pass, etc.
