In addition, one cannot miss the delicious specialties of the flood season such as snakehead fish hotpot with water hyacinth flowers, roasted field mouse, etc.

Following the Chau Doc route, tourists visit the famous and miraculous Ba Chua Xu Temple, Tay An Ancient Pagoda, and the Thoai Ngoc Hau Mausoleum – the figure who contributed to the development of An Giang province. Moving onto a small boat, cruising on the Hau River, tourists visit the floating fish farms, immersing themselves in the "water life" of the fishermen raising fish on the river. Crossing the Chau Giang ferry to the Cham village, tourists also have the opportunity to learn about the unique brocade weaving craft of the Cham people and visit the mosque of the Cham Islam community.

Located about 30km from Chau Doc town, Tra Su Melaleuca Forest is considered the most typical and unique natural habitat conservation area of the wetland ecosystem in the Mekong Delta. During the high water season, there's nothing more enjoyable than a boat trip through the forest, admiring the pure white melaleuca flowers blooming in the early morning sun, their delicate fragrance lingering in the air. The most delightful feature is the "waterways" in Tra Su Forest. During the flood season, the water covers the roads, but the melaleuca trees along the sides remain taller than the water surface, forming these "waterways." Water hyacinths cover the "roadways" with a green carpet, and the melaleuca trees on either side provide shade. Occasionally, the sound of oars, birdsong, and splashing fish disturbs the tranquil atmosphere of the forest.
The colorful Long Xuyen floating market
Originally a wholesale market supplying agricultural products to Long Xuyen, the Long Xuyen floating market is located on the Hau River, very close to the provincial capital of An Giang. It is one of the few floating markets in Southern Vietnam that still retains the very original lifestyle of the Mekong Delta. Although not as large and bustling as the Cai Rang floating market in Can Tho, visitors to the Long Xuyen floating market still feel as if they are immersed in the simple life of the local people. During the peak flood season, authentic flood season products such as linh fish, water lilies, and wild sunflowers are sold on rowing boats weaving through the market. This is a rare opportunity for visitors to admire up close and capture the most genuine and vibrant moments that the beauty of the flood season offers.
The wonders of Tram Chim National Park
Located deep within the Tam Nong wetland area, with a total area of 7,588 hectares, Tram Chim National Park (Dong Thap province) is one of Vietnam's eight most important bird conservation areas; and the world's 2,000th Ramsar site (wetland of international biological and conservation importance). This is Vietnam's last remaining grassland wetland system, rich in biodiversity and famous for the red-crowned crane, one of the rare bird species listed in the international Red Book.

During the flood season, Tram Chim National Park becomes an oasis amidst the vast expanse of water. Thousands of white egrets dot the fields against the backdrop of the lush green mangroves, creating a truly impressive scene. Climbing to the watchtower and gazing out towards the horizon, visitors feel as if they are embracing a pure, soothing green landscape.
In addition, visitors will have fascinating experiences exploring the Thap Muoi Lotus Field tourist area with its pristine beauty of vast lotus fields. Visitors can freely capture romantic moments in the poetic and charming scenery with endless stretches of lotus flowers. Or stroll along the wooden bridges made from hundreds of planks, creating unique pathways amidst the lotus fields.
