With its vast green vegetation, cool underground streams, caves with majestic geological structures and especially cave floors that have never been touched by humans, Hung Thoong is considered one of the most unique trekking routes in Vietnam today.
The journey to awaken this beauty did not come from a large planning project or an official government survey. It began with the enduring passion of a Central Vietnamese - Le Luu Dung, founder of Jungle Boss Tours, who has spent more than a decade wandering in the jungle, living and working among nature as part of it.

From the deep forest back to the mission of discovery
Jungle Boss is one of the pioneers in exploiting adventure tours in Phong Nha, notably the journey to conquer Kong Sinkhole and Hung Thoong cave system.
Put into adventure tourism exploitation since 2022 after many surveys, Hung Thoong is not just a cave but a complex ecosystem including deep caves, mountain lakes, underground streams, unique vegetation and ancient limestone systems. Names such as Hang Tron, Hang Hung, Lo Lung Lake, Nightmare sinkhole have gradually become fascinating destinations for explorers.

Adventurous destinations worth conquering
"When I started my business, I chose to keep the name Jungle Boss as a reminder of my origins: coming from the forest, understanding the forest, loving the forest - and always having to live responsibly with the forest, whether doing tourism or anything else" - Mr. Luu Dung shared.
The special feature of Hung Thoong is its closed and isolated geological location. This valley is nestled between towering limestone mountains, where sunlight only shines for 3-4 hours a day. The blue underground stream flows through the crevices of rocks and the primeval forest, creating stable humidity and temperature, thereby creating an eternal green vegetation - a cool, quiet and magical green.
Floating Lake - Spectacular discovery in the untouched space
In May 2024, when the Jungle Boss cave expert team was surveying Thung Cave, part of the Hung Thoong system, they suddenly discovered a completely new cave floor with no human footprints. After 2 days of climbing ropes, wading through streams and swimming through underground rivers for more than 3km, the team reached a giant jade-colored lake located on the main cave branch. This lake was named Lo Lung Lake, not only because of its precarious position in the middle of the cave floor, but also because of the feeling of being suspended between two worlds: a world of light from the forest, a world deep in the heart of the rock.

This discovery not only resonated in the exploration community but was also an important turning point to complete the 3-day, 2-night Hung Thoong trekking journey, a product currently evaluated by experts as one of the adventure tours with the richest and most unique natural experiences in Vietnam.
Hung Thoong trekking route is designed for people with good physical strength, who have experienced trekking and want to push their limits in an absolutely wild natural environment. During the 3-day journey, visitors will have to climb mountains, cross forests, swing on ropes, swim through underground rivers and camp in a remote valley with no phone signal, no modern conveniences - just themselves and nature.
The highlight of the trip is the zipline experience at the 60m high Nightmare sinkhole, a challenge not for the faint of heart. But in return, when overcoming their own fear, visitors will feel the pure happiness that only nature can bring.

Travel without footprints
What makes Jungle Boss different is not only the new routes, but also the way they integrate tourism development with community livelihoods. More than 90% of the porters and guides of Hung Thoong tour are indigenous people, people who used to live off the forest, were "loggers" or freelance workers.
Through a thorough training in safety skills, first aid, communication, rescue and especially a sense of responsibility towards nature, they have now become silent but steadfast forest guardians. Many tourists after their journey have kept in touch, returned to visit the porter family and become close friends of the local people. A strong relationship between people and the forest is woven from profound experiences.

Rather than approaching nature as a resource to be exploited, the tour organizing team in the Hung Thoong area chooses to respect it as a living organism. The principles of "walk without traces, cook without smoke, leave no trash" are strictly followed. Each group of guests is limited in number to minimize ecological impact, while regular surveys with the support of international experts continue to be maintained to ensure safety and environmental balance.
Hung Thoong is not only an adventure route but also reflects a new model of tourism approach - where the experience of discovery is associated with awareness of nature protection and responsibility to the local community.

In the coming years, Jungle Boss's journey to explore nature will not stop at Hung Thoong. Wild lands such as Bach Ma, Ta Du waterfall or Phi Lieng (Lam Dong) are being researched as the next potential destinations. Along with that is the process of improving professional capacity from tour organization techniques, rescue, to operations through cooperation with international organizations. A light-weight travelodge accommodation model combining nature experiences and connecting with the local community is also being nurtured as the next step in the development orientation. Hung Thoong is not for the majority. It is for those who dare to go deep into nature to find themselves.
