Trekking tours during Tet (Lunar New Year) are "exciting" for travel enthusiasts.

With the increasing demand for travel during Tet (Lunar New Year), and with reasonable costs and easily accessible destinations, mountain climbing always attracts adventure enthusiasts and those who enjoy new experiences.

Trekking is known as a multi-day long-distance walking activity that involves traversing challenging mountainous terrain. In recent years, this form of tourism, requiring good physical fitness and a strong sense of adventure, has become a popular choice for many travelers.

“During the Lunar New Year every year, and this year in particular, customers will still prioritize the national trekking route of Lao Than in Bat Xat, Lao Cai. For those who have trekked before and want to increase the difficulty, there are additional options such as Nhiu Co San or Bach Moc Luong Tu,” Sy Nguyen said.

According to him, DiTrek's trekking time is mainly on weekends. Therefore, during Tet (Lunar New Year), the number of tour bookings will be slightly higher than usual. The trekking time during Tet, including travel, will start from the evening of the 3rd day of Tet. The itinerary will last 2 days, which is perfect for tourists to return in time to start their work for the new year.

According to Sỹ Nguyễn, the most popular trekking tours at DiTrek right now, especially during the Lunar New Year, are the five routes: Lảo Thẩn, Nhìu Cồ San, Bạch Mộc Lương Tử (Kỳ Quan San), Tà Chì Nhù, and Lùng Cúng.

Ta Chi NhuTa Chi Nhu, considered the highest peak in Yen Bai province, has several routes for climbing it. However, after the Lunar New Year, many people choose to trek from Nam Nghiep village, Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district, Son La province, as this is when the hawthorn blossoms begin to bloom. The pristine white hawthorn forests covering the entire area are extremely attractive to tourists.

And what about Lung Cung?If you enjoy diverse forest landscapes but find Nhiu Co San or Bach Moc Luong Tu difficult to climb, you can choose this route. Lung Cung peak is quite easy to climb, with beautiful scenery; both sunrise and sunset are moments everyone wants to admire upon reaching the summit.

During holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year), we maintain the original price and do not charge any extra fees,” Sy Nguyen further shared.

The advantage of booking a trekking tour is that all the basic equipment will be prepared, including: raincoats, trekking poles, gloves, waterproof bags, porters to carry your belongings and assist with the climb… And there will always be an experienced guide to provide warm-up exercises, climbing techniques, and how to use the equipment before the journey begins.

When going hiking, people should pay attention to the basics such as: hiking boots with good grip, and a size larger than their foot size by 1.5 to 2 sizes. While the body heats up during the hike, you don't need to wear many layers, but the weather on the mountain gets very cold at night and early morning, so you need to prepare enough warm clothing. Before the day of the hike, you should prepare in advance by doing things like climbing stairs and jogging.

“In my four years of doing trekking tours, I’ve had quite a few memorable experiences with each of my tourists. The most memorable are the ones with the young customers. Their parents brought them along to participate in the experience, and despite their young age, they had quite good climbing abilities. Even though I knew they could climb, I was always worried, and I stayed very close to them until they safely descended the mountain before I could breathe a sigh of relief. Or there were customers who met and fell in love after the tour. There was one couple who went to Lao Than and the guy proposed to the girl right on the mountaintop,” Sy Nguyen excitedly recounted.

Initially, when working in tourism, Sy Nguyen didn't plan on organizing trekking tours. However, after having the opportunity to participate in a trekking trip, he found it quite interesting.
