Pickleball is creating an unprecedented craze in Vietnam, attracting the attention of millions of sports enthusiasts. The popularity of this sport is clearly demonstrated by the record-breaking consumer spending figures.
According to a report from Metric.vn, a reputable e-commerce data analysis platform, in the first half of 2025, total revenue from pickleball-related products exceeded VND 510.6 billion, a surge of 1,282% compared to the same period last year. Notably, the first quarter alone recorded revenue of VND 228.7 billion, nearly equaling the total revenue of the entire year 2024. With over 2.4 million products sold, pickleball is no longer just a fleeting trend but has become a part of a dynamic and fashionable lifestyle.
In the first half of the year, Vietnamese consumers spent over 510 billion VND on pickleball products, a 1,282% increase compared to the same period last year, with 2.4 million products sold.
The pickleball boom is closely linked to the flexible spending habits of Vietnamese people. Despite debates about the exorbitant costs, reaching tens of millions of dong per month for professional players, the majority of consumers still prefer products in the affordable segment. Data shows that products priced between 200,000 and 750,000 dong are the most popular, accounting for the largest share of revenue.

Specifically, the 500,000 - 750,000 VND price segment generated approximately 75 billion VND, while lower price segments also contributed significantly. This affordability has helped pickleball spread rapidly, attracting both beginners and recreational players. The best-selling products currently are specialized training shoes and rackets, with Shopee being the platform holding the largest market share in distribution.
Consequently, the market for products such as rackets, shoes, and clothing for the new sport of pickleball has become vibrant, especially on social media groups and e-commerce platforms.
The growth of pickleball is not only reflected in sales figures, but also in the development of a comprehensive ecosystem. Many new playing fields and clubs have sprung up across major cities, from public courts to high-end sports centers.
Notably, in the first quarter alone, total revenue reached VND 228.7 billion, almost equivalent to the sales for the entire year of 2024 (VND 271.9 billion).
Amateur and professional tournaments are also regularly organized, creating a healthy playing field and opportunities for players to gain experience. Besides international brands, many domestic brands have quickly caught up, launching high-quality product lines, from rackets and apparel to training accessories. This not only diversifies choices for consumers but also affirms the sustainable development potential of this sport in Vietnam.
In terms of pricing structure, the most popular product group, priced between 500,000 and 750,000 VND, generated over 75 billion VND in revenue, with Shopee accounting for the largest share at over 48 billion VND.
With its current impressive growth rate, experts predict that pickleball revenue in Vietnam could surpass 1 trillion VND in 2025. This boom not only reflects the sport's appeal but also demonstrates a shift in consumer habits and lifestyles, as Vietnamese people become increasingly interested in health, sports, and new experiences.
