Flower Home is a farm established more than 30 years ago, located in Zhuolan, Miaoli County. This farm grows many beautiful flowers of Taiwan. Zhuo Ye Residence is located in Miaoli County, Taiwan, and was founded in 2004 by a husband and wife team. Both have master's degrees in agriculture. This resort and experience is like a peaceful, relaxing moment away from the hustle and bustle of bustling urban life. This is a great destination for those who want to experience rural life and explore traditional Hakka culture.
The founders initially purchased this long-abandoned 0.7-hectare plot of land to fulfill the husband’s childhood dream of creating a traditional Taiwanese “village.” With red lanterns hanging outside the thatched houses and spring couplets pasted on the doors, visitors feel like they’re entering a rustic village as they stroll along the main alley of the property. The traditional houses here are also very diverse, with many distinctive shapes, thatched roofs and wood paneling.

Not only the classic rural houses, Zhou Ye is also famous for its Hakka vegetarian cuisine and fabric dyeing activities with the people, listening to the sharing of this special indigo dyeing method. This is the indigo dyeing culture of the Hakka people, who migrated to Taiwan long ago. Indigo fabric is dyed entirely from leaves, making the fabric not stiff and sharp, causing discomfort and also to avoid insects. When dyeing, the folding and tying techniques are used to cover the white parts, the rest will be dipped in blue dye water.
In order to promote the disappearing indigo culture, the founder not only established a pattern painting workshop in 2015 but also grew indigo dyeing materials on the farm. In addition, the house also invited indigo artisans, craftsmen and designers. Together, they created an innovative business model for the sustainable development of traditional Hakka culture.
