Gurney Resorts in Montauk and Newport are setting up themed igloos for Christmas. Each igloo comes with a unique design, fun activities, warm blankets, some tasty treats and even themed music.
For example, the Astrology igloo at Gurney Resort in Montauk includes tarot cards with instructions, a crystal ball, decorative photos, and a reading. But if fortune-telling isn’t your thing, you can stay in a Harry Potter-themed igloo. It comes with potions, wands, and Harry Potter soundtracks. The igloos also come with a bell so you can call in food or drinks from Tillie’s Restaurant.
At Gurney Resort in Montauk and Seawater Spa, igloos are available through March 1, 2020, but reservations are required. There are seven themed igloos: Santa Workshop; Cabin; Astronomy; Harry Potter; Alpine Skiing; and Tropical Summer.
At Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina, the igloos will be available from now until February 29, 2020. Although there are only three igloos, the fun and exciting themes are still maintained. Themes include: Santa Workshop, Astrology and Tropical Summer.
All of the igloos are extremely warm and fully equipped with entertainment facilities, plus a transparent protective layer that allows you to comfortably enjoy the beautiful scenery outside. Each igloo can accommodate up to 8 people at a time for up to two hours. The price to stay in the igloos is 25 USD/person. All proceeds at the Gurney Resort in Montauk will go to the Make-a-Wish Foundation and all proceeds at the Gurney in Newport will be donated to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Rhode Island for charity.
