At the opening ceremony, the Italian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam, Mr. Antonio Alessandro, stated that Italy is a country with strengths in food production and export. In particular, the food production sector has shown great resilience, with positive growth despite the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Antonio Alessandro stated: "With this Italian Food Week, we want to convey three profound messages about Italian cuisine to the public. Firstly, Italy is always at the forefront of culinary quality and ingredients. Secondly, the healthiness of Italian cuisine is known for its Mediterranean diet, emphasizing high-fiber foods, the use of local ingredients, low fat and meat, and plenty of seafood. Finally, the sustainability of food in long-term consumption."
At the opening ceremony, guests were delighted to experience and enjoy many special dishes prepared by Italian chef Marco Squizzato.

Every year, Italy organizes "Italian Food Week" in Vietnam and many other countries around the world with the aim of promoting Italian dishes and products, as well as the unique culture, lifestyle, and healthy culinary traditions of Italy, focusing on maintaining the health of Italians. The event also aims to promote cultural exchange between Italian cuisine and the distinctive culinary traditions of Vietnam.
However, according to the Italian Ambassador to Vietnam, Antonio Alessandro, products manufactured in Italy are among the most copied brands in the world. The food production sector is no exception. Fortunately, counterfeit products never have the authentic Italian flavor. Therefore, the Italian Ambassador to Vietnam hopes that Vietnamese consumers will purchase Italian food from authorized dealers to ensure they receive genuine products, manufactured, packaged, and preserved according to Italian standards.

In particular, at this 7th Italian Food Week, visitors can experience a Food Week with many exciting activities such as a workshop on "Coffee Culture" with the theme "Italian-Vietnamese Intermingling", the Italian Gelato ice cream festival, the Casa Italia wine festival, the Italian Food Week exhibition, the Valpolicella wine tasting competition and training course, the "Flavors of Italy" exhibition, and more.
The World Italian Food Week is an initiative involving the entire network of 296 Italian diplomatic and consular missions and cultural institutes to promote Italian culture and cuisine, which are core values of the Mediterranean diet and central to the region's identity and lifestyle.
