From Road 27, Thanh My Town, Don Duong District, Lam Dong Province, there is a turnoff near Bridge 14 to go to Da Stream. The stream has no name, no sign, so I had to ask the people around for the third time to know how to get to the stream.
The way to the stone stream.
We had to leave our motorbikes at the house of a farmer growing onions at the foot of the hill. From there, we had to go through two more stages to reach the head of the stream. The first stage was a gentle, trailing slope, so it was not difficult. When we reached the foot of the stream, we struggled to get over the green rocks.
LEAP INTO THE PEACEFUL LAND AMONG THE MOUNTAINS AND FORESTS OF DON DUONG
I went to the stone stream at around 2-3 pm but the dense bushes of the old forest made the road as dark as late afternoon. The quiet scene was occasionally ruined by swarms of mosquitoes buzzing around when we stopped to rest. The rest was just the sound of our heavy breathing as we climbed up the steep slope to the stone stream.
Tall old tree with giant roots.
The flow is modest but just enough for the chilly weather in Don Duong.
I climbed for a long time but could not hear the sound of running water. I was already soaked, I started to feel tired and wanted to turn back. But my passion for natural streams did not allow me to give up. After a little more effort, I heard the sound of running water. I was extremely happy because I was finally nearing my destination.
The closer I got to the stream, the clearer the scene became. I felt the light streaming down before my eyes, looked up and saw a giant skylight woven into an oval shape by the towering ancient trees. The pure white stream also appeared faintly behind the dense foliage. I was dizzy in the "love language" of nature: under the shade of the shady trees, stepping on the rough rocks, breathing in the cool fresh air with each step.
The stream flows to one side looking very graceful.
My body trembled as the clear water splashed white foam in front of me. The late afternoon sunlight became more slender and gentle, enough to bring a feeling of relaxation in the pleasant air of the forest. The tall ancient trees with giant roots clinging to each rock created joints that seemed perfect for the balance of nature here. The birds chirped as if welcoming us to their "territory". Suddenly they stopped, revealing the quiet, calm and peacefulness of the old forest. That was enough to erase all the difficulties during the arduous journey to climb the waterfall.
Close your eyes and enjoy all the benefits that nature has to offer.
We rested at the waterfall for about an hour. I dipped my feet in the cool stream, then lay back on the rocks, closing my eyes to absorb all the benefits of nature. My sister also had her own space to enjoy those wonderful moments. Occasionally, my sister and I looked at each other, but we didn’t say anything. Both of us were busy immersing ourselves in the wonderful tranquility in our minds.
HOW TO COME, HOW TO GO...
Not many people know about this stream, only some local people go to the forest or young people come to camp. Strangely, after those groups of people leave, plastic bottles and plastic bags still lie in the middle of the stream. No one knows when, everyone will realize that returning a destination to its original integrity is the most necessary thing. That is the best and easiest treatment that people can do for nature.
A wild crab I met along the stream.
The stream is still pristine with many dense bushes, green moss still clinging to the rocks, so even though I moved very carefully, I still slipped because the rocks were too slippery. Because the trip was unplanned, I only wore normal sneakers, not specialized shoes. If you intend to conquer this stone stream, you need to equip yourself with good grip, waterproof shoes and some protective gear such as gloves, long pants. In addition, you can prepare some food, drinks and camp here. And do not leave anything but the original cleanliness of the stone stream.
The best time to visit the stream is on a summer morning. You will have time to move around and then leisurely enjoy the quiet beauty of nature. Avoid going in the afternoon, because it gets dark very quickly. Finally, come here with a group of people to support each other during the trip.
