The World Travel Awards has officially announced Vietnam as the World's Leading Heritage Destination in 2024, during the awards ceremony in Madeira, Portugal. This is the 5th time Vietnam has been honored in this category, following the achievements in previous years in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023. To maintain its "form" for 5 consecutive years, Vietnam had to overcome many "heavyweight opponents" such as Armenia, Brazil, Egypt, Greece, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.
The title of World's Leading Heritage Destination once again affirms the potential and leading attraction of unique heritage values with a system of 9 world natural and cultural heritages, 15 intangible cultural heritages, and 10 documentary heritages honored by UNESCO.

Hanoi Department of Tourism was honored to receive the title of "World's Leading City Tourism Management Agency 2024". Phu Quoc Island won the title of "World's Leading Natural Island Destination 2024". Ha Nam won the award of "Special Achievement Award 2024". Tam Dao won the title of "World's Leading Tourist Town 2024", along with many other world-leading awards for outstanding Vietnamese airlines, travel agencies, and tourism businesses.
