Nguyen Khanh Vu Khoa (1985) is a freelance photographer and designer based in Ho Chi Minh City. Having started taking photos extensively in 2019, Vu Khoa has now explored and documented the beauty of almost all 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam. Each trip is a memorable experience, giving him a deeper insight and allowing him to fully enjoy the wonderful moments of life.

In the process of "hunting" for photos of people or nature, the male photographer believes that many factors are involved. When photographing people, he often combines both natural elements and artistic staging. Sometimes, he simply observes quietly and captures natural moments. At other times, he proactively engages in conversation with the subject to fully explore their beauty and personality.

To capture a satisfying landscape photograph, it's crucial to utilize the weather, choose the right angle, and create a harmonious composition. For example, sunrise and sunset often offer the most beautiful light, making the photograph more vibrant and impressive. However, the most important factor remains the ability to tell a story and convey emotion through each work.

Photography is not simply about pressing a shutter button; it's an experiential journey. To capture stunning photos, thorough preparation is essential, from researching the location and weather to choosing the right equipment. However, according to Vu Khoa, flexibility is also crucial. This could involve changing plans to capture unexpected moments and create photos with a strong personal touch. Vu Khoa shared: “There are many memorable experiences, but the most impressive was the time I followed the locals to the Long Dien salt fields in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province at 4 am. The road to the fields was bumpy and slippery. The feeling of stepping into the motorboat, my feet sinking deep into the mud up to my knees, was truly unforgettable. Luckily, some of my companions pulled me up; otherwise, I would probably still be struggling in that mud. Even so, I was fortunate to go early so I could watch the sunrise and capture the colorful moments of the people's work and daily life there.”

Vietnam, with its rich beauty and friendly people, has a unique allure. Every trip is an opportunity to discover new lands, unique cultures, and always holds surprises. "Take the time to experience and feel, and you'll realize how beautiful our country is," the photographer said.
