Given the widespread spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in Da Nang, Vietjet recently coordinated with relevant authorities to organize four flights between Da Nang and Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City on August 13th and 14th, 2020, to assist passengers stranded in Da Nang in returning to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The passengers on these flights were tourists stranded in Da Nang due to the city's social distancing measures, including many children. Upon their return, passengers and crew must undergo medical monitoring and quarantine in their respective localities as per regulations.

These were the first domestic flights operated by Vietjet to transport passengers stranded in various locations within the country due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, Vietjet had also operated numerous flights to bring Vietnamese citizens from around the world back home; transported thousands of tons of essential goods and medical equipment for pandemic prevention; and provided free transportation for doctors and medical staff. By the end of July, Vietjet had safely brought nearly 10,000 Vietnamese citizens from Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan (China), Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, and Myanmar back to Vietnam.
