According to Vietnam Airlines, the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has officially confirmed that Vietnam Airlines meets all security requirements to operate regular commercial direct flights to the US.
With this event, the airline has become the first Vietnamese airline to receive TSA approval to operate regular commercial direct flights to the US - a country with the strictest legal and aviation security barriers in the world. This is one of the most complex and important conditions that foreign airlines need to achieve in order for the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to grant permission for regular flights to this country.
Previously, after Vietnam Airlines completed its submission to TSA, the agency inspected and evaluated the security measures and procedures that Vietnam Airlines is applying at Tan Son Nhat airport, as well as the airline's ability to meet the requirements of US authorities in ensuring security for regular flights.
According to the airline's plan, the historic flight is expected to take off at the end of November this year.
Not only Vietnam Airlines, but also billionaire Trinh Van Quyet's Bamboo Airways also plans to fly to the US in the near future. Currently, Bamboo Airways has been granted an air transport business license with international and domestic operations and an aircraft operator certificate (AOC) for the B787-9 aircraft type with the North American (NAM) operating region. Specifically, the airline can organize flights carrying passengers and cargo from Vietnam to the US, transporting cargo from the US to Vietnam and possibly carrying passengers who are experts, foreign investors, and Vietnamese citizens returning home when approved by the Prime Minister and relevant ministries and branches.
