Plastic bottles were cut into tulip shapes and painted in various colors such as red, yellow, pink, blue, some others were buried in sand and cement to make paths around the garden.

“Plastic bottles form a huge mountain of trash in Lamitan, turning them into a tourist attraction could help solve some of the plastic pollution,” said Lamitan Mayor Rose Furigay.

This flower garden has been open since September 23, attracting the attention of many tourists.

It is known that the Philippines has always been a country with a large amount of plastic waste discharged into the ocean and only a small part of it is recycled.
