Located 360 km southwest of Seoul, South Gyeongsang Province plans to build a Vietnamese village in Sancheong County, the birthplace of coach Park Hang-seo. Sancheong County, covering an area of 794.59 km² and with a population of approximately 39,000 as of 2001, is surrounded by lush green mountains, earning it recognition as a "clean city free from environmental pollution."
According to local officials, the Vietnamese village in Sancheong County will feature an exhibition area, a football-themed cafe, a street lined with Vietnamese restaurants, and murals depicting Mr. Park and famous Vietnamese tourist attractions. The local authorities also plan to develop a new tourist route by connecting the Vietnamese village with existing attractions, such as the Saengcho International Sculpture Park and the Sancheong Museum.
This project, with an investment of approximately 4 billion won (US$3.39 million), is scheduled to begin construction in 2021. South Korea hopes the village will help boost the tourism market from Vietnam. "We believe a new tourist attraction is necessary to draw visitors to Sancheong. The Vietnamese village is also expected to provide a beautiful destination for domestic tourists," a government representative said.
During his visit to his hometown in early 2019, Coach Park Hang-seo was chosen as an honorary ambassador for Sancheong County.
Coach Park Hang-seo, 60 years old, has become a "hero" in Vietnam and South Korea after his achievements leading the Vietnamese national team and U23 team since October 2017. Vietnamese people's interest in South Korea has increased thanks to the impressive performances of Coach Park and his players. From April to November this year, more than 20 groups of Vietnamese tourists visited Sancheong.
Let's take a look at some beautiful sights in the hometown of coach Park Hang-seo.
Mount Cheonwangbong, at 1,915 meters, is the highest peak in the Jirisan mountain range.

Rhododendrons are in full bloom on Mount Hwangmaesan, which is 1,108 meters high.
