On December 24, 2019 in Hanoi, the General Department of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation for the period 2020 - 2022 on tourism promotion and promotion with Vietnam Airlines. By signing this Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation, the two sides hope to create many attractive, quality products and services and bring convenient travel and tourism opportunities to Vietnamese people as well as international tourists.
Many activities will be coordinated by the two sides such as: increasing promotion on mass media; introducing publications, documents, exchanging market research information; cooperating in participating in international tourism fairs abroad, organizing destination surveys and cooperating in organizing domestic tourism events...

Vietnam tourism is increasingly asserting itself as an economic sector that makes an important contribution to the country's economic and social development. In 2018, the number of international visitors to Vietnam increased by 26% over the same period in 2017, reaching nearly 15.5 million visitors. 2019 was also a year of bumper tourism for Vietnam with regional and international awards such as: "World's Leading Heritage Destination 2019", "World's Best Golf Destination 2019", "Asia's Leading Destination", etc. It is expected that in 2019, Vietnam tourism will continue to grow by about 15% (compared to the world average of about 4-5%), achieving the target assigned by the Prime Minister of about 18 million international visitors.
