On December 24, 2019, in Hanoi, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) signed a strategic cooperation agreement for the period 2020-2022 on tourism promotion and development with Vietnam Airlines, the national airline of Vietnam. With this agreement, both parties hope to create more attractive and high-quality products and services, and provide convenient travel and tourism opportunities for Vietnamese people and international tourists.
Many activities will be jointly implemented by both sides, such as: enhancing promotion through mass media; introducing publications and documents, exchanging market research information; cooperating in participating in international tourism fairs abroad, organizing destination surveys and cooperating in organizing domestic tourism events...

Vietnam's tourism industry is increasingly asserting itself as an important economic sector contributing to the country's socio-economic development. In 2018, the number of international visitors to Vietnam increased by 26% compared to the same period in 2017, reaching nearly 15.5 million. 2019 was also a banner year for Vietnamese tourism, with numerous regional and international awards such as: "World's Leading Heritage Destination 2019", "World's Best Golf Destination 2019", "Asia's Leading Destination", etc. It is projected that in 2019, Vietnamese tourism will continue its growth trajectory of approximately 15% (compared to the world average of about 4-5%), achieving the target set by the Prime Minister of approximately 18 million international visitors.

As the national airline of Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism have a long-standing tradition of extensive cooperation in promoting Vietnamese tourism, showcasing the beauty of Vietnam's tourism as well as the airline's products and services. These collaborative programs are part of the "Flights of Nation" campaign – a series of activities by Vietnam Airlines aimed at spreading national identity, pride, and responsibility.
By signing this Memorandum of Understanding, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and Vietnam Airlines will cooperate with the highest sense of responsibility to contribute to making Vietnamese tourism a key economic sector and strengthen the close ties between tourism and aviation.
