03/04/2018

The beautiful central region of Vietnam always has interesting spots that you might never discover if you're not careful. Let's uncover the beauty of Quang Ngai with these captivating photo opportunities!

Ly Son Island

This is the most famous tourist destination in Quang Ngai province, boasting 10 breathtakingly beautiful landscapes that many other coastal and island areas of Vietnam would envy. Ly Son Island never ceases to attract tourists with its pristine, endless, and magnificent scenery of clouds, rocks, and water – so stunning that every angle you take with your camera looks like something out of a magazine! This place is definitely worth spending your first day exploring!

Minh Long White Waterfall

If you happen to wander to Minh Long Waterfall, the vast, vibrant landscape, reminiscent of scenes from Chinese films you've seen somewhere, will fill you with excitement. Don't get so caught up in admiring the scenery that you forget to take some amazing photos, because the beauty of the cascading white waterfall combined with the golden sunlight and green forest will create a super magical backdrop for you.

Kon Chư Răng Nature Reserve

Did you know that the heavenly beauty of Kon Chư Răng, nestled amidst the mysterious primeval forest, is the dream destination for countless people! The scenery, like a watercolor painting, is both familiar and strange, with glimpses of a mesmerizing stream flowing through the vast and distant Amazon rainforest.

Sa Huynh Salt Fields

The Sa Huynh salt fields are famous as a large and important salt production area in Central Vietnam, located in Pho Thanh commune, Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province. From March to August each year, the salt farmers here are busy in the fields producing high-quality Sa Huynh salt.

The landscape of Sa Huynh salt fields, stretching endlessly like a giant mirror reflecting the brilliant sunlight, is dotted with countless mounds of pristine white salt, along with the hardworking salt farmers carrying their loads… all creating a simple yet distinctive picture.

Ba Lang An Cape

If Phu Yen boasts the pristine and romantic Ganh Da Dia, then Ba Lang An Cape in Quang Ngai is an equally stunning masterpiece that you should visit on your third day. The lyrical beauty of the sea, trees, rocks, and coral reefs here is thoughtfully arranged by nature, allowing you to capture incredibly beautiful photos.

Ba Lang An is a headland located in Binh Chau commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province. The place is named after three villages that share the same name, An: An Hai, An Vinh, and An Ky. Ba Lang An headland is the southernmost point of the East American Peninsula, 22 km southwest of Cu Lao Re island. The Ba Lang An lighthouse (Phu Quy hamlet, Binh Chau commune, Binh Son district) is located at the outermost tip of Ba Lang An headland.

The lighthouse here constantly flashes, guiding ships in and out of Sa Ky port. Viewed from Tinh Ky, Ba Lang An is a headland formed from volcanic sediments that gently slope towards the sea. From here, Ly Son Island is visible. This is one of the prominent headlands that shapes the Vietnamese coastline and is the closest mainland territory to the Paracel Islands. Geographical measurements show that Vietnam is closest to the Paracel Islands, and the closest mainland location to this archipelago is Ba Lang An, with a distance of 135 nautical miles. Meanwhile, the distance from the Paracel Islands to the Chinese mainland is at least 230 nautical miles.

Thien An Mountain

It's no exaggeration to compare Thien An Mountain to a corner of Trang An, with its breathtakingly beautiful "green mountains and clear waters." Following the small path up the mountain, you'll be constantly amazed by the vast forests and crystal-clear lakes, peaceful and beautiful like a scene from a movie.

Pass WorryNg Mon – TL625

The section of TL625 road from Thanh An intersection to Son Ky intersection is about 25 km long, passing through Long Mon Pass and Minh Long White Waterfall. With scenery no less stunning than the majestic Northwest, from Long Mon Pass you can gaze down on the breathtaking Thanh An valley.

The TL625 road, winding along the Bo Nung stream, is exciting for those who love exploration. However, the closer you get to Son Ky, the more difficult the road becomes, so if you want to conquer this route, besides being a skilled driver, you also need to prepare a good vehicle because the road is very deserted.

Enjoy the local specialties.

Food lovers definitely shouldn't miss these delicious dishes when visiting Quang Ngai: grilled catfish, grilled quail, grilled scallops, corn fritters, tuna noodle soup, crab noodle soup, or Tra Bong cinnamon... Also, don't forget to buy a few kilograms of Ly Son garlic to bring back as gifts for friends and family!

If you only visit Ly Son Island in Quang Ngai, you've missed out on 1001 beautiful places and delicious food! Note down Travellive's itinerary and gather your friends to hit the road – summer is just around the corner!

Travel

Since there is no airport in Quang Ngai, from Saigon or Hanoi, you can book a flight from Noi Bai/Tan Son Nhat to Chu Lai Airport (Quang Nam) and then take a taxi or bus to Quang Ngai on the same day. Alternatively, if you have ample time and want to enjoy the scenery along the way, you can choose to travel by bus, train, or car!
