200 billionaire tourists have been arriving in Ha Long Bay since December.

A group of renowned billionaires is expected to have a memorable vacation in Ha Long Bay in the near future. Aiming to provide unique and luxurious experiences, the group will enjoy overnight stays on 5-star cruise ships, along with high-end recreational activities such as kayaking to explore mysterious caves.

According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Information Portal, the Arts for Climate Festival will take place in Ha Long (Quang Ninh) from January 13th to 19th, 2025, with the participation of over 80,000 people, including 200 European billionaires. The billionaires will arrive in Ha Long by superyacht starting in late December this year.

The World Natural Heritage site of Ha Long Bay was chosen to host the Climate Arts Festival due to its unique and highly symbolic location. Aiming to provide unique and luxurious experiences, guests will enjoy an overnight stay on 5-star cruise ships, along with high-end entertainment activities.

The festival includes a series of activities such as a music festival featuring world-renowned artists; a seminar on climate change response and marine conservation; an art exhibition and auction of valuable artworks; and an international culinary event celebrating local cuisine.

The Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee has directed relevant units to promptly put into operation three beaches in Ha Long Bay – Soi Sim, Hang Co, and Trinh Nu – in preparation for the event. The sandy beaches at the foot of the mountains in the areas between Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay will also be developed to meet the high-end demands of billionaires arriving on superyachts.

Currently, Ha Long Bay receives approximately 4,000 to 6,000 visitors daily, with 90% being international tourists. Despite the impact of Typhoon No. 3, most activities in the bay have returned to normal.

This is seen as a good opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam's natural beauty.

Reportedly, in the first nine months of the year, the city welcomed 9.2 million visitors (a 33% increase compared to the same period in 2023). Of these, international visitors reached 2.13 million (a 2.3-fold increase compared to the same period). Total tourism revenue is estimated at approximately 20,300 billion VND (a 34% increase compared to the same period in 2023). To attract tourists during the autumn and winter seasons, Ha Long City is also proactively maximizing the effectiveness of its tourism and transportation infrastructure, especially the flow of cruise ship passengers through Ha Long International Cruise Port. Besides visiting Ha Long Bay, this group of tourists also enjoys exploring and learning about the local culture.

The Ha Long Bay Management Board has begun surveying and identifying beautiful islands and beaches that retain their pristine natural beauty in order to create unique and distinctive products to serve the increasing number of high-end, luxury, and billionaire tourists visiting Ha Long. Meanwhile, in recent years, Vietnam has become an attractive destination for high-spending tourists. With its magnificent natural beauty, luxurious resort system, and unique culinary experiences, Vietnam is increasingly welcoming high-end tourists such as celebrities, billionaires, and millionaires.

In late August, the Indian billionaire, founder of the pharmaceutical conglomerate Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (Sun Pharma), brought 4,500 employees to Vietnam for nearly two weeks, with a planned itinerary including Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and Ha Long Bay.
