According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Information Portal, the Arts for Climate Festival will take place in Ha Long (Quang Ninh) from January 13 to January 19, 2025, with the participation of more than 80,000 people, including 200 European billionaires. The billionaires will come to Ha Long by superyacht from the end of December this year.
The World Natural Heritage site of Ha Long Bay was chosen to host the Arts for Climate Festival thanks to its special and highly symbolic location. Ha Long Bay is also home to an ecosystem that is being threatened by climate change and human pressure. According to the Head of the Bay Management Board, visitors are expected to stay overnight and experience outstanding services in Ha Long such as kayaking and bathing on pristine beaches.
With the desire to bring unique and classy experiences, guests will enjoy overnight stays on 5-star cruises, along with high-class entertainment activities.
The festival includes a series of activities such as a music festival with the participation of world-famous artists; a workshop on climate change response and marine conservation; an art exhibition, an auction of precious artworks; an international culinary event, honoring local cuisine.
Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee has directed relevant units to soon put into operation three beaches: Soi Sim, Hang Co, Trinh Nu in Ha Long Bay to prepare for the event. The sandbanks at the foot of the mountains in the areas between Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay will also be exploited, meeting the high-class requirements of billionaires traveling on super yachts.
Ha Long Bay currently receives between 4,000 and 6,000 visitors a day, of which 90% are international visitors. Despite the impact of storm No. 3, most activities on the bay have returned to normal.
This is considered a good opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam's nature.
It is known that in the first 9 months of the year, the city welcomed 9.2 million visitors (up 33% over the same period in 2023). Of which, international visitors reached 2.13 million (2.3 times higher than the same period). Total tourism revenue is estimated at about 20,300 billion VND (up 34% over the same period in 2023). To attract tourists in the fall and winter, Ha Long City also proactively maximizes the effectiveness of the tourism and transportation infrastructure system, especially the flow of cruise passengers through Ha Long International Passenger Port. Besides visiting Ha Long Bay, this group of visitors also loves to explore and learn about local culture.
The Ha Long Bay Management Board has begun to survey and identify beautiful islands and beaches that still retain their pristine beauty in order to create unique and distinct products to serve the increasing number of high-end, super-luxury, and billionaire tourists who are coming to Ha Long. Meanwhile, in recent years, Vietnam has become a destination attracting high-spending tourists. With its majestic natural beauty, luxurious resort system, and unique culinary experiences, Vietnam is increasingly welcoming more high-end tourists who are stars, billionaires, and millionaires.
At the end of August, the Indian billionaire, founder of the pharmaceutical group Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (Sun Pharma), brought 4,500 employees to Vietnam for nearly two weeks with a tour schedule of Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Ha Long Bay.
