This is a project to colorize the fish village in the Chau Doc river junction area, implemented by the An Giang Province Trade and Investment Promotion Center, creating a new highlight for the typical tourism product of the Mekong Delta region.
Right at the Chau Doc River junction, the colorful fish raft village is one of the highlights of An Giang tourism, where visitors immerse themselves in the typical river life of the Southwest region.

Located in the middle of a gentle, poetic river, Chau Doc floating village has long been a characteristic of the border region of An Giang. It is a symbol of a "golden" period of the tra and basa fish farming industry at the Chau Doc river junction.
Mr. Le Trung Hieu - Director of the Trade and Investment Promotion Center of An Giang province shared: "The raft village has begun to complete about 70% of the number of rafts initially set, the goal is to design a colorful raft village to attract more space for tourists. After the raft village has changed its color, the number of visitors is relatively large. The owners of the raft villages have started to switch from raising livestock to providing tourism services on the raft village. For example, organizing restaurants and cafes on the raft village so that tourists can both experience and enjoy the specialties of the livestock farmers in that raft village. At the same time, they can buy souvenirs from the Cham ethnic group to bring back. In the near future, when it is completed, it is expected that the number of tourists coming to An Giang and visiting the raft village will be larger".
This waterway is more than 1km long, painted in a variety of colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple... on all 161 rafts and cages raising famous freshwater fish in An Giang.
The location of the raft fishing village is on the sightseeing route to learn about and experience the river life and culture of the Cham community in An Giang.
Previously, some fish farming households in Chau Doc raft village had provided tourism services, but the number was still limited. After implementing the new look, the locality mobilized people to welcome visitors, added food services, and let people experience fish farming on the river. At the same time, they learned about the life on rafts of people in the river area, enjoyed the typical dishes of An Giang province... Each house has a fish raft made of star wood with a 5 meter deep bottom. The surrounding area is covered with iron nets. The main means of transportation for the villagers are boats and canoes. The houses are located next to each other with similar architecture. Coming here, visitors will have the opportunity to be introduced to the process of raising fish on the river and experience feeding fish on the raft. When the bait is dropped, hundreds, even thousands of fish will come up and eat the bait, causing the water to splash. It is truly an interesting sight.
