The floating village of Chau Doc in An Giang province boasts over 161 fish cages stretching nearly 1 km, painted in various colors such as red, yellow, orange, green, blue, and purple, creating a uniquely vibrant waterway in the Mekong Delta. Located at the Chau Doc river junction in Da Phuoc town, An Phu district, An Giang province, each floating house or fish cage is painted a different color, sequentially.

This is a project to transform the floating fish farms in the Chau Doc river junction area into a vibrant hub, implemented by the An Giang Provincial Center for Trade and Investment Promotion, creating a new highlight for the unique tourism products of the Mekong Delta region.

Mr. Le Trung Hieu, Director of the An Giang Provincial Trade and Investment Promotion Center, shared: "The floating village project has completed about 70% of the initial number of rafts. The goal was to design a colorful floating village to attract more tourists. After the village was given a colorful makeover, the number of visitors increased significantly. Owners of the floating villages have shifted from livestock farming to providing tourism services. For example, they are organizing restaurants and cafes on the floating villages so that tourists can experience and enjoy the specialties of the local farmers. They can also purchase souvenirs from the Cham ethnic minority to take home. Once completed, we expect the number of tourists visiting An Giang and the floating villages to increase even further."
