Vietnamese banh mi tops the list of the 100 best sandwiches in the world.

On March 14th, the Vietnam National Tourism Information Center announced that the prestigious food website TasteAtlas has honored Vietnamese banh mi (pronounced "bun mee") as one of the best dishes in the world.

TasteAtlas describes Vietnamese banh mi as the perfect combination of a crispy bread crust, savory grilled meat filling, fresh herbs, and distinctive spices. This dish reflects the Vietnamese palate's preference for herbs and mild flavors.

Today, Vietnamese sandwiches come in many variations with a wide variety of fillings such as chicken, pork, beef, seafood, cold cuts, pâté, sausage, etc. However, it's important not to overfill the sandwich to maintain a balanced flavor.
