The Grand Egyptian Museum's general supervisor, Major General Atef Moftah, earlier revealed that 96.5 percent of the work at the GEM has been completed, equivalent to the transfer of 55,000 artifacts into the museum.
The display lenses for King Tutankhamun's galleries are 100% complete and are currently being tested.
He added that 90 percent of the artifacts for the museum have been installed, and the control system and surveillance cameras are also being completed.

On the implementation of the cable car idea, Moftah said that a study is currently being carried out to connect the first part of Fayoum Road to the museum.
The cable car is expected to transport tourists from the GEM hotel area to the lower part of the Giza Plateau, running parallel to Fayoum Road and on the other side of the Al-Masaken sub-district, where there will be access stations for the new entrance and exit.

Furthermore, there is currently a study underway to provide a direct link between Cairo Airport and the hotels that will be developed in the museum area, located between Fayoum Street and GEM.
Moftah also commented on the recent discovery at Saqqara: “I have requested that the Saqqara Cache be added to the artifacts scheduled for display in the GEM, as well as the Asasif Cache, both of which will join the museum’s exhibition program.
We will prepare two exhibition halls of GEM called 'Hidden Halls' to house the coffins. GEM has two museum exhibition halls with a total area of 2,500 square meters, in addition to three halls of 600 square meters for temporary display and exhibition of both ancient and modern art.”

It is one of the museums specifically designed to preserve and showcase Egypt's precious national heritage with state-of-the-art conservation laboratories, along with educational facilities, temporary exhibition halls, a children's museum, a conference center, restaurants, cafes, shops and a large garden for everyone to enjoy.
The GEM will house more than 5,000 artifacts from Egypt's most famous king, Tutankhamun, from his royal tomb, many never before seen by the public. The Main Galleries feature material from Prehistory to Roman times, while the entrance area focuses on Kingship and Power.

Zidan further explained that the design of the memorial is unique in the world, where the memorial will be suspended on four columns, taking into account the loads and vibrations on the body of the memorial.
The GEM Antiquities Recovery and Transportation Operations Department confirmed that the restoration work on the tower, including mechanical and chemical cleaning and reinforcement of cracks on it, has been completed, and the reassembly of the tower is also being completed.

He added that Egyptian script will be engraved in all the languages of the world on the columns and on both sides of the pedestal containing the monument, so that the design will be a blend of Egyptian genius past, present and future.
The inauguration of the world's largest museum in Egypt is one of the major events that Egypt and the world are waiting for.
