The General Supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum, Major General Atef Moftah, previously revealed that 96.5% of the work at the GEM had been completed, equivalent to the transfer of 55,000 artifacts to the museum.
The lenses for display in the galleries of King Tutankhamun are 100% complete and are currently undergoing testing.
He added that 90% of the museum's artifacts have been installed, and the control system and surveillance cameras are also being completed.

Regarding the implementation of the cable car idea, Moftah said that a study is currently underway to connect the beginning of Fayoum Road to the museum.
The cable car is expected to transport tourists from the GEM hotel area to the lower Giza Plateau, running parallel to Fayoum Road and on the other side of the Al-Masaken sub-district, where access points for new entrances and exits will be located.

Furthermore, a study is currently underway to provide a direct link between Cairo Airport and the hotels that will be developed in the museum area, located between Fayoum Road and GEM.
Moftah also commented on the recent discovery at Saqqara: “I have requested that the Saqqara Cache be added to the artifacts planned for display at the GEM, as well as the Asasif Cache, both of which will be part of the museum’s exhibition program.
We will prepare two exhibition rooms at GEM, called 'Hidden Halls,' to house the coffins. GEM has two museum exhibition rooms with a total area of 2500 square meters, in addition to three halls of 600 square meters for temporary display and exhibition of both ancient and modern art.”

This is one of the museums specifically designed to preserve and showcase Egypt's precious national heritage, featuring state-of-the-art conservation laboratories, along with educational facilities, temporary exhibition spaces, a children's museum, a conference center, restaurants, cafes, shops, and a large garden for everyone to enjoy.
GEM will house over 5,000 artifacts from Egypt's most famous king, Tutankhamun, from his royal tomb, many of which have never been seen publicly before. The main galleries display documents from Prehistory to the Roman era, while the entrance area focuses on Monarchy and Power.

Zidan further explained that the monument's design is unique in the world, as it will be suspended on four columns, taking into account the load and vibration on the monument's body.
GEM's Antiquities Restoration and Transportation Operations Department has confirmed the completion of the tower's restoration work, including mechanical and chemical cleaning and reinforcement of cracks; the tower's reassembly is now nearing completion.

He added that Egyptian hieroglyphs would be inscribed in all the world's languages on the columns and sides of the monument's base, so that the design would become a blend of Egyptian genius from the past, present, and future.
The inauguration of the world's largest museum in Egypt is one of the main events that Egypt and the world are eagerly awaiting.
