The Makeup Museum's inaugural exhibition, "Pink Jungle: 1950s Makeup in America," will begin with the decade that marked the birth of the modern cosmetics industry and familiar names like Elizabeth Arden, Max Factor, and Sally Hansen. It was also a period when the art of makeup and beauty influenced pop culture and the burgeoning media industry, from Marilyn Monroe's red lipstick to Brigitte Bardot's cat-eye makeup.

"The Makeup Museum is a significant cultural landmark in New York. The 1950s were the perfect time for the Makeup Museum to begin with its inaugural exhibition, as the 1950s marked the birth of the modern cosmetics industry!" - said CEO and co-founder Doreen Bloch.

Rachel Goodwin, makeup artist for Emma Stone, Michelle Dockery, and January Jones, is also one of the co-founders of the Makeup Museum. The museum's goal is to hold multiple exhibitions at different times and provide people with a truly in-depth understanding of each era.
