Mr. Nguyen Hoang Vu, Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial Tourism Association, said that the high airfare (since the summer season) has affected the cost of tours in the province.
According to Mr. Vu, this situation is not unique to businesses in Binh Dinh province; travel agencies in other localities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi also face the problem of "prices being too high, making it difficult to operate" when bringing tourists there.
Following feedback from the Tourism Association, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province issued a document to airlines including Vietnam Airlines; Vietravel Airlines; VietJet; and VietJet regarding air passenger transport prices.
Accordingly, in a document signed by Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province stated that "recently, according to feedback from the Binh Dinh Tourism Association and some travel businesses, the price of passenger air transport to and from Binh Dinh province has increased significantly compared to the national average and some provinces and cities in the region."
The People's Committee of Binh Dinh province stated that, in order to effectively implement the signed cooperation agreements, the People's Committee requested airlines to cooperate in providing information on passenger transport prices and flight frequencies to and from Binh Dinh province in the past period.
At the same time, airlines have discussed and coordinated with Binh Dinh province and relevant agencies and units to implement solutions to reduce prices and increase flight frequencies, creating favorable conditions to attract tourists to Binh Dinh province in the coming time.
