However, this performance gives Joe a one-stroke lead over T2. This position is shared by five golfers: Deyen Lawson, Kade McBride (Australia), Saksit Jairak, Nopparat Panichphol (Thailand), Justin Quiban (Philippines), and Kevin Phelan (Ireland). McBride and Jairak both scored eagles on the 18th hole.
The tournament featured 23 Vietnamese golfers, but only Nguyen Nhat Long finished the first round with a negative score (-1). Nhat Long recorded 4 birdies and 3 bogeys, placing him T19 (-1). Doan Van Dinh and Nguyen Anh Minh, currently Vietnam's number one amateur golfer, shared the T26 position (even par). The opening day statistics showed six eagles, with only Phelan and Samarth Dwivedi avoiding bogeys. Despite this, Dwivedi was T11 (-2), two strokes behind Phelan, having recorded two birdies throughout the round.

The BRG Open Golf Championship has been part of the official competition system on ADT since its launch and has been a companion event within the framework of the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival, which opened in 2022.
This year's tournament brings together 144 golfers competing for a $100,000 prize pool in a three-round individual stroke play format. The cut-off point will be determined after two rounds, with the top three finishers taking the lead or those tied for 50th place. The champion will receive a prize of $17,500 and a trophy crafted from Chu Dau ceramics (Hai Duong province), which have a 600-year history. The organizing unit, ADT, identifies the BRG Open Golf Championship as a long-term project in Da Nang.
The Asian Tour (ADT) has been operating since 2010, serving as a stepping stone to the top tier of the Asian Tour, similar to the Korn Ferry Tour of the PGA Tour in the US or the Challenge Tour of the DP World Tour in Europe. Since 2013, ADT tournaments have been counted towards the World Professional Golf Ranking (OWGR). To date, only Tran Le Duy Nhat, a Vietnamese national, has won this tournament, at the Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament in 2015.
