On April 18, 2025, BYD Vietnam Automobile Co., Ltd. (BYD Vietnam) officially launched the Sealion 6 model, marking the first time the advanced DM-i Super Hybrid technology was introduced to domestic consumers. In addition, the BYD application was also officially provided to customers using BYD vehicles in Vietnam.
At the launch, BYD Vietnam also officially introduced the Sealion 8 large-sized pure electric SUV, offering the perfect combination of powerful performance and spacious space, targeting successful family customers and high-end businesses.

BYD Sealion 6 - A New Era for Hybrid Technology
The Sealion 6 is not only a new step forward in BYD's electrification strategy, but also represents the perfect blend of outstanding performance, impressive fuel economy and the smooth driving experience typical of electric vehicles.
The car is shaped based on the “Ocean Aesthetics” design philosophy - BYD's signature language, inspired by the smooth and graceful movement of the ocean. The delicate curves are combined with bold angular details, creating a dynamic, modern and futuristic appearance.

The heart of the model is the DM-i Super Hybrid powertrain, integrating a high-performance 1.5L Xiaoyun engine for PHEV vehicles with a powerful electric motor, producing a total output of 214 horsepower and a maximum torque of 300 Nm. Despite being a hybrid vehicle, this model offers a quiet yet powerful driving experience like a pure electric vehicle from the moment it starts to the feeling of instant acceleration.
DM-i Super Hybrid technology is optimized so that the gasoline engine functions primarily as a generator, while the electric motor takes on most of the driving duties. The vehicle consumes just 1.1 L/100 km* with a 100% battery charge, providing a clear advantage in operating costs.
