Community-based tourism villages in Dien Bien are ready to welcome visitors.

Leveraging its potential and advantages in natural landscapes and ethnic cultures, Dien Bien province has been focusing on developing community tourism in recent years, especially during the upcoming April 30th - May 1st holiday.

The National Tourism Year – Dien Bien and the Hoa Ban Festival 2024 is a significant cultural, economic, and social event of national and international scale, associated with the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024). To prepare for this event, from the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, cultural and tourism villages in the province have upgraded their facilities and beautified their grounds to meet the needs of tourists for sightseeing and accommodation.

Community-based tourism is a sustainable direction for tourism in Dien Bien.

At this time, households engaged in ecotourism, as well as local people providing homestay services in Dien Bien Phu city and Dien Bien district, are completing all preparations to welcome guests.

Dien Bien province organized a booth showcasing unique products reflecting the life and cultural space of the highlands. Many booths, not only from Dien Bien province but also from other provinces and cities nationwide, participated in the Dien Bien National Tourism Year 2024 exhibition.

Along with organizing cultural spaces in mountainous areas and activities to display and introduce cultural and tourism products, Dien Bien province hopes to connect localities and cultural researchers, creating more opportunities for localities and businesses to cooperate in introducing cultural products and traditional handicrafts; giving wings to cultural and tourism products and products of each locality to reach greater heights and wider markets.

According to a review by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province currently has 205 tourist accommodation establishments (2,765 rooms with over 5,000 beds). Of these, the Dien Bien Phu city area and its surroundings have over 120 establishments. Dien Bien currently has 12 cultural tourism villages, including some prominent community tourism destinations such as: Phieng Loi village, Pung Tom village (Thanh Minh commune), Men village (Thanh Nua commune), Ten village (Thanh Xuong commune) in Dien Bien district; Che Can village, Muong Phang commune, Dien Bien Phu city…

Community-based tourism villages have been meticulously preparing to welcome tourists, offering unique experiences reflecting the customs and traditions of each locality. This contributes to creating a positive image in the minds of visitors and promotes the further development of tourism in Dien Bien.
