These are two special musical evenings organized to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory.
Bui Cong Duy will perform the symphonic poem for violin and orchestra, Poeme, Op. 25, composed by Ernest Chausson in 1896. Chausson wrote this work during a holiday in Florence, Italy. The piece has been recorded and performed by many violinists and is widely recognized by fans as Chausson's most famous and beloved work. Poeme Op. 25 is a concerto for violin.

In the Dien Bien Phu Concert program, the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra will premiere the symphonic work "Meeting Point" by the French-Vietnamese composer Nguyen Thien Dao. He was born in Hanoi in 1940 but moved to France in 1953 and joined the National Conservatory of Paris in 1963.
Nguyen Thien Dao considered himself "the heir to two civilizations: Eastern and Western." He attempted to create a musical complex by building music based on time intervals, tonal colors, rhythmic structures, and durations. He hoped to be seen as the author of a type of music that was "lyrical and passionate, like that of a heroic figure." Nguyen Thien Dao recently completed the Symphony "Tien Du" for the National Orchestra and the Symphony "Diem Hen" (Golden Epic) for the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra.
