Representatives from the Hanoi Relics and Scenic Spots Management Board stated that reopened tourist attractions must still ensure COVID-19 prevention measures for staff and visitors, such as wearing masks and washing hands.
At the Temple of Literature, the ticket area at the main gate is marked with lines to ensure visitors queue 1 meter apart; information boards on COVID-19 prevention and control will be prepared in Vietnamese, English, and French and placed at entrances and rest stops. Visitors must wear masks, have their temperature checked, and sanitize their hands before entering; and tour groups will be limited to no more than 30 people.
"We have identified ensuring pandemic prevention as our top priority when reopening. The number of visitors is expected to decrease significantly compared to before," shared Mr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Cultural and Scientific Activities Center of Van Mieu National University.
Previously, historical sites and scenic spots in Hanoi were temporarily closed from March 13th to prevent the spread of the disease.
At the Hoa Lo Prison historical site, the reopening is accompanied by a thematic exhibition titled "Aspiration for Freedom," featuring three sections: Shackles, Soaring Through the Night, and A Song of Peace.
Also from May 12th, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum will continue to open its doors to welcome Vietnamese people and international visitors to pay their respects to President Ho Chi Minh.
