The preliminary round in the coastal city of Nha Trang attracted 21 teams with 63 chefs from restaurants, hotels, and resorts from Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong, Binh Dinh, Dak Lak, and Kon Tum.

After 2 days of competition, the teams devoted their passion for food and put all their heart into each dish, the results were given to the most deserving. The champion of the South Central and Central Highlands region belonged to the chefs from Novotel Nha Trang hotel.

With this victory, Novotel Nha Trang and 9 other second-place teams in the region have won tickets to the semi-finals and are getting closer to the final prize of 1 billion VND. The semi-finals of the Golden Spoon Awards will take place in October in Ho Chi Minh City to continue competing with other talented chefs across the country.

The Golden Spoon Awards is a cooking competition for professional chefs in Vietnam, which has gone through two seasons in 2013 and 2014. This third season will have many new features in the organization, judging, competition regulations... compared to the previous two seasons, promising to create more drama and find the next excellent chefs.
