This is the 17th time this prestigious tournament has been organized by Mercedes-Benz Vietnam (MBV). The 2019 Final Round will be even more exciting with a larger scale and the largest number of Hole-in-One (HiO) prizes ever, including 7 Mercedes-Benz cars and 41 prizes from partners with a total value of nearly 30 billion VND.
Celebrating 30 years of the world's largest corporate golf tournament MercedesTrophy
The 2019 Mercedes Trophy Vietnam National Championship took place at Tan Son Nhat Golf Course.
MercedesTrophy is the world's largest corporate golf tournament with 30 years of establishment and development. This is a sports playground exclusively for golfers who are Mercedes-Benz customers and guests who share the same passion for golf. MercedesTrophy has been held in Vietnam since 2002 and has become a familiar playground for the Vietnamese golf community. Every year, about 5,000 golfers compete from qualifying tournaments to win an honorary invitation to the national finals. In terms of the number of golfers participating as well as the qualifying tournament system, MercedesTrophy is the largest corporate golf tournament in Vietnam.
Officially launched in August 2018, the 17th MercedesTrophy Vietnam season has attracted more than 5,000 golfers across the country to compete in 23 qualifying rounds. In addition to the high-quality tournaments, MBV has aimed for a geographically widespread qualifying tournament system. In addition, MBV also provides special support for charity golf tournaments and brings many values to the community. MBV has also sponsored 37 Mercedes-Benz cars for the HiO awards in the qualifying rounds of this year's season to increase the attractiveness.
In order to improve the quality of organization, this final tournament will be managed by Level 3 International referees from R&A/USGA (Royal & Ancient/ United States Golf Association). The referee board will conduct a survey of the competition course and carry out marking work, from which the tournament's own Local Rules will be issued.
More than 220 golfers are divided into 2 groups, including the High Performance group (from 23 qualifying tournaments) and the Guest group. The High Performance group will have 4 groups including A, B, C and the Women's group. The Guest group will have 3 groups A, B, C. Each group will have 1 Best Gross prize. Each group will have 3 highest rankings (Achievement based on number of strokes and handicap). In addition, there are up to 8 Nearest to the Pin prizes, 2 Longest Drive prizes and 2 Nearest to the Line prizes. In total, there will be up to 23 performance prizes and 12 technical prizes.
As usual, the 2019 MercedesTrophy Vietnam National Finals will find 7 outstanding faces to represent Vietnam to attend the 2019 MercedesTrophy Asian Finals in Australia in August 2019, and the best golfer will move on to the 2019 MercedesTrophy World Finals in Germany in October 2019. All round-trip business class airfare to Australia and Germany will be covered by Vietnam Airlines and MBV.
